Prepare for Australia’s new era of tax transparency with Public CbCR Reporting.

Australia’s Public Country‑by‑Country Reporting (Public CbCR) represents a fundamental shift in tax transparency for large multinational groups. For the first time, in‑scope organisations are required to publicly disclose detailed tax and financial information for every jurisdiction in which they operate, with reports published on a publicly accessible government website.

This is a step‑change from traditional, private compliance reporting. Public CbCR moves tax data into the public domain, significantly increasing regulatory, investor, media and community scrutiny. It also raises the bar for consistency and credibility across all public and private disclosures, including statutory financial statements, ESG and sustainability reports, OECD CbCR filings, transfer pricing documentation, and public announcements. In this new environment, Public CbCR is no longer just a tax compliance exercise - it is a reputational, governance and stakeholder‑management issue. Organisations that take a proactive, coordinated approach will be better positioned to tell a coherent tax story, manage risk, and demonstrate alignment between their tax outcomes, commercial operations and public commitments.

This webinar will provide a practical walk‑through of the ATO’s Public CbCR guidance, covering who is in scope, what information must be disclosed, and key reporting timelines. We will also explore the governance, data‑mapping and narrative considerations multinational groups should be addressing now to ensure their public disclosures are accurate, consistent and defensible - and to proactively manage reputational, regulatory and stakeholder risk.
